Island Stay
Island Stay came to us with a clear gap and no existing platform to fill it. The Channel Islands had destination content or booking tools — never both in one place. We built the definitive digital home for Channel Islands travel from the ground up.

The Problem
Government destination sites had strong editorial content but no booking capability. Global OTAs had booking capability but no local depth, no curation, and no understanding of what makes the Channel Islands distinct. Individual operators ran disconnected systems with no shared infrastructure. The result was a market that worked against the traveller — and left significant revenue on the table for local tourism businesses. No single platform offered real-time bookable inventory, rich destination storytelling, and a growth engine for local partners in one place.

Solution
The booking engine handles flights, hotels, transfers, experiences, and event tickets in a single checkout flow. The AI assistant — powered by the Claude API with live web search — answers specific, current questions about the islands rather than generating generic travel suggestions. The partner dashboard gives hotels, activity providers, and transport companies a self-serve B2B portal to manage listings, availability, and analytics. Editorial content and SEO-optimised island guides are managed through Sanity.io, positioning Island Stay as the platform that ranks for every Channel Islands travel search query. Why this worked: - Depth over breadth: Rather than building a generic OTA, we built a platform that knows one market better than any competitor — with local editorial, live AI data, and direct partner relationships built in from day one. - Multi-tenancy from the start: Every partner is scoped as their own tenant, meaning the platform scales to hundreds of operators without rebuilding the architecture. - One platform, three revenue streams: Bookings, partner advertising, and promoted placements are all architected in from launch — not bolted on later.
