The Problem
Supported living providers in the UK are accountable to CQC's fundamental standards and single assessment framework — but most operate on paper notes, paper MAR charts, and spreadsheets that make compliance a reconstruction exercise rather than a continuous record. When a dose is missed, it is often discovered days later. When a safeguarding concern is raised informally, it can disappear. When CQC requests evidence against the five key questions, managers spend days pulling together documentation that was never designed to answer those questions. The correct way of recording something was rarely the fastest way — so corners got cut, and the audit trail suffered.
Solution
The digital eMAR captures every medication round with automatic missed-dose alerts and double-signature for controlled drugs. A one-tap safeguarding flag is immutable once submitted — it cannot be edited or deleted, only escalated. The CQC evidence pack generator maps directly to the five key questions, pulling from existing records rather than requiring managers to duplicate work. A live statutory-notification deadline tracker ensures nothing lapses quietly. Consent and mental capacity records are tied to every significant decision. The document repository per service user and per staff member is management-only for upload and edit — front-line staff can view what is relevant to their shift, nothing more. The support worker app uses a service-user check-in picker so one worker on shift can move between residents in their house, each with their own scoped dashboard, case notes, and medication record.
